In the 2019 film "Terminator: Dark Fate," Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprise their iconic roles as Sarah Connor and the T-800 Terminator, respectively. It is revealed that after completing its mission to kill Sarah in "Terminator 2," the T-800 learned the value of human life and developed a sense of remorse. It subsequently chose to help Sarah in her mission to prevent the future machine apocalypse.

Together, the group embarks on a cross-country journey to evade the Rev-9 and find a way to stop Legion's rise to power. Along the way, they confront numerous action-packed sequences and face intense battles against the Rev-9, showcasing the Rev-9's ability to split into two separate entities: a liquid metal endoskeleton and an exoskeleton.

The story delves into the theme of fate and the inevitability of the future, as well as exploring the emotional journeys of the characters. Sarah Connor's character arc focuses on her enduring trauma and her desire to protect others from the horrors she experienced. Dani Ramos, initially a seemingly ordinary woman, discovers her resilience and inner strength as she becomes a key figure in the battle against the machines.

Ultimately, the group confronts the Rev-9 in a climactic battle at a hydroelectric dam. Sacrifices are made, and the Rev-9 is ultimately defeated, but at the cost of Carl's life. The film concludes with Sarah, Dani, and Grace determined to continue fighting against Legion and the future it represents.

"Terminator: Dark Fate" sought to recapture the spirit of the original two films, delivering intense action, high-stakes storytelling, and the return of beloved characters. It aimed to provide closure to Sarah Connor's story while introducing new heroes to carry the torch in the ongoing battle against the machines.
